2 days until the end

The end of the year is eagerly anticipated for countless reasons.  I am not certain if I am more anxious to end 2017 or excited begin 2018.  Depending on one’s perspective, the events in my life during 2017 can be viewed equally as adversities and blessings.  I guess people judge you as either an optimist or a pessimist depending on how you depict each life occurrence.

I have concluded that truly the most important perspective is the one I have, because I have to own my life….the good, the bad, and the not so beautiful!  All are equally important and ultimately stabilize me as a person, though it is sometimes difficult to see in the present how the challenges can be positive.

Who am I?

  • a 55 year old female (I had to stop and count from 1962 as I don’t keep up with birthdays anymore
  • Mom to 2 daughters, ages 23 and 26
  • a divorcee
  • a fiancee
  • an only daughter
  • the primary caregiver to my 91 year old Dad
  • the primary manager of my 88 year old Mom with Alzheimer’s, living in a Memory Care facility
  • Mom to 2 elderly male rescue cats
  • part time Nanny to an adorable 5 month old girl
  • chief cook and bottle washer, grocery shopper, house cleaner, manager of all household accounts and bills, keeper of the computer, doctor scheduler, driver to all appointments
  • a registered nurse
  • a creative, genuine, trusting friend who wears her heart on her sleeve and is honest to a fault

Sharing comes second nature to me, and so I choose to start a blog to reflect, to provoke thought, to calm, to amuse, to shock and to captivate anyone who is interested.

I will soon explain why the title of my blog is Cary to Calcutta…….

Reading this, I realize how long it has been since we talked and how so many things that have changed in you’re life. Some are confusing to me, but some are nice to hear. I would love to get together soon to catch up, but it seems you are so very busy. I look forward to reading more!
    Love to you,
    Lynne
